About Maharaja Express

The Maharaja's Express is the newest luxury train in India, commencing operations on January 9, 2010. It's also the first luxury train in India to journey across the whole country. You'll travel through the night to different locations, and have the day to explore them.

The Maharaja's Express has a total of 23 coaches, with four distinct configurations. There are five deluxe carriages, six junior suite carriages, two suite carriages, and one presidential suite exclusively in one carriage. The train also has two fine dining restaurants, one bar, and an observation lounge with its own bar, game tables and comfortable club.

Other unique aspects of the train include a state of the art suspension system for a smooth ride, climate control in the passenger cabins, environment friendly toilet system, and direct dial telephones from each cabin.

A train that never falls short of promising you a royal experience, the Maharajas' Express features five carriages for Deluxe Cabins, six for Junior Suites, two for Suites and one for grand Presidential Suite.

Every cabin has large panoramic windows - a design marvel developed by the Integral Coach Factory, Chennai. Just so, that you can savour every bit of magnificent India.

All passenger Cabins come with individual temperature controls, the first of its kind in India and have state-of-the-art facilities. LCD televisions, DVD players, direct dial telephone and internet, to name a few. In-house movies and live television also keep you entertained through the royal journey.

Just a small reminder for those who are used to a different power supply, the Maharajas' Express is equipped with 110 V sockets. Every cabin also has its own electronic safe deposit box.
